Mission

The mission of La Entrada High School is to provide educational experiences that stimulate intellectual curiosity, create personal enthusiasm for knowledge and actively engage and empower the students in the process of learning so that they may responsibly participate in a diverse, ever-changing democratic society.

Upcoming Events

New and Continuing Registration for 2010-2011

All new and continuing students should receive a registration packet in the mail during the first week of August. If you do not receive a registration packet please call the office after August 9th in order to have a new one sent. New students interested in enrolling in La Entrada for the Fall semester should make an appointment for intake before July 9th or after August 9th.

June 17-Last day of school year

July 10-August 8, 2010-La Entrada Office CLOSED for summer

August 2nd-Registration Packets for 2010-11 school year mailed home

August 30-September 3-La Entrada student registration with teachers

September 7th-First day of school

All students should meet with teachers prior to the start of school

Seniors - make sure that you have all of your community service hours accounted for and turned in. There are many of you that need to get that cleared before graduation.

Welcome

La Entrada High School is an independent study program in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District. Located in Yorba Linda, California, the program is designed for students who desire an alternative to traditional classroom instruction as a way in which to earn their high school diploma. La Entrada means "gateway" in Spanish. As such La Entrada High School is the "Gateway to the Future" through alternative instruction.

La Entrada is a student centered public program that partners students, parents and staff to provide a dynamic learning environment that promotes high academic achievement, personal and social responsibility and empowers students to meet the challenges of a changing world. Students select independent study classes as well as attend concurrent classes at their home schools, attend community college classes and participate in ROP programs. Often students who were not successful at the comprehensive high school thrive at their new alternative setting. Student programs are personalized and designed to meet the goals, interests and learning style of each individual student. La Entrada has a formal graduation ceremony and students may participate in traditional school activities at their home schools.
